“But Lord, Gideon asked, ‘how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.’ The Lord answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all ithe Midianites together'”
Gideon had some hurdles to get over. 1. He was not confident in himself, and 2. He had very little faith, and 3. He feared his own limitations. All sound familiar? However; Gideon obeyed with a zeal that was incredible. His obedience was right on target. He handed these weaknesses over to God, and turned the tables. OH>>>> Gideon had his weak moments, and he also had his failures… he was human, but he SERVED God with those weaknesses! His FAITH grew as he became closer to God, and realizing who God actually is in his life. It grew so big that in Hebrews 11 he became a member of the “Hall of Faith!”. Once Gideon was convinced, he acted on his convictions, he knew that it was God speaking, and he knew he had was to listen. Gideon didn’t have access to what we have access to… and that’s God’s Word. God will give you all of the signs, and all of the signals in HIS Word that you need to build CONFIDENCE, FAITH, and TRUST!
I deal with these issues daily… I wonder where I would be, and how I would get through the day without God’s Word. If there is a morning that I skip reading His Word, I am truly lost for that whole day. When I am in scripture, I feel guided, and lead the WHOLE day. As my studies increase, my FAITH increases! When I prepare to lead a class, My FAITH increases. You know I realized a while back that I have so many hobbies. From Computers, to Music, to even doing those occassional magic tricks since I was twelve, and which I know many of you have come to LOVE :), but there’s one thing that I have learned… There’s NOTHING more fullfilling than studying God’s Word in your life! It builds EVERYTHING, and It’s insatiable!
It is inerrant, absolute truth! You can depend on It, You can have Faith in It, You can trust It… EVERYTIME!
Make the Bible your Hobby, and watch your life change!
II Timothy 3:16-17
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, and correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
