The Statue of Liberty Today

The number of visitors to the Statue of Liberty said to approximately 4 million in each year. Private boats are not allowed to dock at Liberty and Ellis islands. Therefore the only way on is via the ferry system. There is no charge to visit the island or enter the pedestal, but there is a charge for the ferry.
Statue Cruises tickets need for visiting Liberty Island to see the Statue of liberty.Advance purchasing tickets is must because the cruises do sell out.There are three types of tickets. Access to the statue’s crown, $20 ,access to the pedestal of the monument or the grounds of Liberty Island, $17 .The National Park Service run and maintained the island and statue
For ascending the staircase within the statue to the crown a special ticket is needed. Walking up to the crown is as like as walking up a 22 story building. The limited number of visitors get the permission for ascending the staircaseFor this limitation tickets can be purchased up to a year in advance. Everyday 240 people and Per hour three groups are allowed and each group contain no more than 10 people.
The actual pedestal that was designed for the Statue is another option. it is approximately half the height of the entire monument statue. From the pedestal level an incredible views of Ellis Island, New York, New Jersey, and the New York Harbor all together can be found.
For visiting to the pedestal is free, advanced reservations are strongly suggested.
With the visiting of the Statue of Liberty today, one can experience the Liberty Island Museum. One can also take the advantage of the self-guided tours available on both islands. After purchasing tickets these audio tours are automatically included.
